Robert "Bob" Devore is a dedicated and accomplished individual with a strong background in service, leadership, and community involvement. A retired Navy veteran, Bob served 24 years, where he held the positions of Leading Petty Officer and Training Petty Officer, guiding and mentoring countless sailors throughout his military career.
After retiring from the Navy, Bob continued his commitment to service as a Food Service Manager at Pine Knot Job Corps Center in McCreary County. During his time there, he played a pivotal role in working with Job Corps firefighters during the dry season, ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
Bob later transitioned to UPS, where he served as a Dock Lead. In this role, he took on additional responsibilities as a CHSP Safety Representative and Wellness Champion for the 2nd shift, demonstrating his dedication to the health and safety of his colleagues.
His passion for education and community service is evident through his six years as an elected School Board Member for the McCreary County School System. He also served as the past President of the PTA at McCreary County High School, where he volunteered his time to support students and their families.
Bob's commitment to his community extends beyond education. He has been actively involved as a Volunteer Coordinator at Beehive Homes Assisted Living of Louisville Memory Care, and he has participated in various events with Girl Scout troops, local businesses, and the Fern Creek High School MJROTC. For 14 years, he has been a key organizer of the Senior Citizen Beauty Pageant and has coordinated the FRA essay contest for students in grades 7 through 12. Additionally, he collaborates with the Jesus Movement at King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church on various local events.
A proud graduate of Fern Creek High School, class of 1974, Bob is also a Master Mason, 3rd Degree, currently serving as the Chaplain at Salt River Lodge F&AM 180. His dedication to service is further reflected in his role as the non-paid President of the Fleet Reserve Derby Branch 177 in Louisville, Kentucky.
